I think it's fair to say that today's dating world is more complicated than ever. Regardless of the numerous means of communication available to us, it seems like communication is at an all time low. There are new terms created everyday pertaining to relationships, sex, and dating, yet there is little to no clarification of what they truly mean. I don't see why things have to be so complicated, boy likes girl, girl likes boy, they fall in love etc. The messed up part is that women find themselves in "relationships" where they are faithful to a man who is not on the same page. Why? Hell, I don't know, I suppose lack of communication is to be blamed.

But what does it mean when people say they're talking to someone? As far as I'm concerned "talking to someone" is at the bottom of the totem pole of dating language. It is a general way of saying that you are interested in someone and they have expressed interest in you as well.

So why do people swear up and down that" talking" is the same as being in a relationship?

Two people who are talking have absolutely NO claim to one another. Why are we acting like it's a title? Way too many people have the meanings of these "labels" confused. From my understanding talking to someone is the most universal term to apply to a romantic partnership. But honestly, how much weight does that hold? That's like saying "I like chicken"...it doesn't mean shit.

How many of you have seen something like this on social media?

"When I'm single, I do me. When I'm talking to someone, I am talking to only them 100% and I expect them to do the same"

What?

While you're over there being "faithful" sitting by the phone and waiting to hear from bae, he's busy talking to runner up 1, 2, and 3. Until you hear someone say "we go together" and their actions match that statement, you are single.

The person you're talking to is entitled to talk to as many people as they want, as they should. There is nothing wrong with talking to more than one person at a time. I'm positive someone is going to attempt to twist my words so let me be clear. TALKING to more than one person at a time is fine. BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP with more than one person is trifling.

Bottom line, just weigh your options! Now, I am NOT saying you should walk around and drop your draws every chance you get. What I'm saying is there is nothing wrong with"Playing the field". Ha! Yolo! ...Just keep your pants on.

Do you guys remember when Beyoncé strutted the streets of New York in this electrifying ensemble?! Her shorts are from D Squared and her orange crop top is by Cushnie Et Ochs. To complete her color block scheme, the "Flawless" superstar rocked pink heels, dangling green earnings and a green Givenchy bag. Now, We all know Yoncé can afford to wear cute amazing clothes regardless of the fact that they may or may not cost an arm and a leg, but what about the rest of us?

We want to be cute too, and we definitely can be. Cute and affordable is the motto, so tuck in and pay attention.

Color blocking is here to stay! Here's how you can achieve Bey's look for less:

Start with an orange sweater or a long sleeve top. You could wear a tank top but it won't have the same POP as wearing a long sleeve shirt or sweater. The season is changing (finally!) and summer is right around the corner so a breezy long sleeve shirt will work just fine; but if you're looking for an exact replica of Bey's look you can find a similar sweater at Pink Queen ($26)

Next add a contrasting pair of shorts. They can be pink like Bey's or you can go with yellow, green, teal, etc. Any color combo can work as long as they're within range. That means sticks strictly with all neon's, jewel tones (emerald green, amethyst purple, topaz yellow, ruby red, etc.) or neutrals. Now here's where it gets exciting! You can literally wear any bag color you want! Teal, purple, royal blue, anything that pops! Remember the more contrasting the bag, the better the color blocking! For a bag similar to Bey's check out Urban Expressions ($55)

Helpful Tips:

Remember when you were in grade school and the teacher would always hand out those annoying little color wheel pictures. I would sit there and wonder what was the point of it all. Flash forward God knows how many years later and here I am staring at the same picture wishing I had paid more attention lol. But never fear! Google is my best friend, and together we have figured out this color blocking trend to the tea!

If you want to color block you absolutely need to know which colors work well together and which colors don't. For this you can use that annoying little color wheel.

Complementary Colors are colors that are on the opposite sides of each other.

These colors create contrasting effects when they are combined.

Now, if you want to get fancy and use 3 colors together, draw a triangle with 3 equal sides on top of the color circle.

The 3 points where the triangle intersects the circle should work well together. But, if you're a beginner I recommend that you start with 2 rather than 3.

It's almost summer time! Be bold ladies, be bold! Never be afraid to try new things. Fashion is about self expression, don't hesitate just do it!
