Welcome back Sassy ' N ' New York lovers! This weeks post is all about Men's high fashion. Today we only have one representative BUT he is definitely the man to talk to about the suit and tie life. His name ladies and gentleman is Kaleb Hopkins "the Klassic man".

For those of you who may be interested in dipping into the suit and tie world but aren't sure how to go about it, this is the perfect post for you. The one tip I can personally give you is to pay attention to the color wheel.

Complementary Colors are colors that are on the opposite sides of each other. These colors create contrasting effects when they are combined. Now, if you want to get fancy and use 3 colors together, draw a triangle with 3 equal sides on top of the color circle. The 3 points where the triangle intersects the circle should work well together. But, if you're a beginner I recommend that you start with 2 rather than 3.

Okay! Lets get started.

Tip: When in doubt, use a neutral. Neutrals include black, white, gray, beige, and different shades of brown. They are considered neutrals because they can basically match with all colors. 

As you can see Kaleb is wearing a Navy blazer with his neutral pants. From this point (with your neutral color in mind) you can build your color scheme. 



The high top, colorful socks, brown shoes, and accessories all add the finishing touch of finesse to his outfit.

"Everything must fit you. You must know all of your sizes, shirt size, neck size, waist line, collar size, your arm length, whether you're a medium on the waist etc. If you're a bigger man just make sure you have a shirt that fits you.

As for your waist line, we shouldn't see your crotch. Your pants should fit your legs, you must know your inseam."

I agree 110%. I will never understand why some men insist on sagging their dress pants. That's cute? STOP IT. That goes for jeans as well...there is nothing attractive about that. Some of you need to get it all the way together. Honestly, it doesn't make any sense. 
"Everyman should have a black suit in their wardrobe. You should also have either blue, brown or gray as well. Why, because you never know what you're going to do in life. You have to have these things accessible to you because you never know when you might need them. Every man should have a tie, doesn't have to be black, but it should be something that stands out and can work with your center piece for the day." 





Center piece - The piece of attire or accessory you have to wear for the day. 


He does a great job of coordinating his accessories with his outfit. Peep his socks and his bowtie. Though they aren't the same shade of green they still manage to compliment each other. Don't be afraid of combining different shades of a certain color, if done properly it will be very appealing. 

Check out the orange pocket square though, creativity at its finest!

All in all, I love Kaleb's GQ look! His color scheme and use of accessories breaths life into his GQ look. Great job K!

Hailing out of Queens New York, Kaleb Hopkins gracefully escorts us into his world of Urban Fashion. I've been noticing a lot of men wearing these pants with the elastic bands at the bottom.

Based on what I've seen this style is either a hit or miss. Some people can rock it while others look a hot mess.

BUT Mr. Hopkins gives a fine example of how to rock this look.

It's chill yet masculine due to the rouging (ruffling at the bottom of the pants) and his masculine boots.

He completes this look with a simple T-shirt and a couple of accessories. Simple yet chic... urban chic to be exact!

As seen below, by simply adding a few accessories or extra pieces of clothing you can have a totally different look. For some reason a lot of men seem to think that accessories are just for the ladies, but Kaleb debunks that myth by adding a few items to his Urban look. That fedora looks amazing with his pull over! The additional checkered shirt contrasts with his olive pants giving it a clean and polished look.

Fashion Tip of The Week From Kaleb: This is the biggest pet peeve of my life. If your female counterpart whether she's your friend or girlfriend dresses very nice and you're in a dingy T-shirt and jeans you are WRONG. You expect her to look nice at all times and you express that in some way whether it's blunt or subliminal. At the same time she's thinking the same thing about you when you're wearing your dingy T-shirt and your unfitted pants. PLEASE compliment your female counterpart! If you do not compliment them both with your personality and with your exterior they will say something to you or leave you. 



Brooklyn Native Maalik Murphy takes us to the street with his fantastic Urban Street Wear.

Naturally, people have different definitions of Urban street wear but obviously Mr. Murphy is right on the money! I mean, how amazing is his sweater?

The pairing of dark and light colors was done perfectly. The neon green and pink offset the darkness of the sweater which causes it to pop! Have you noticed that his sneakers seem to match perfectly with the entire outfit? Talk about precision!

As for the pairing of the sneakers, this gentlemen, should be considered a rare occurrence. Many have tried to match their sneakers and shirts perfectly but for some reason something feels a bit off. Not in Mr. Murphy's case!

I asked him about his street wear and how he went about putting his outfit together.

"Most of the time I start an outfit with a sneaker or shoe. Whichever is being worn that day. Bright sneakers are better paired with darker clothing so that the shoe pops and draws attention to it. Darker sneakers are better matched with brighter colors or colors that fall within the same family as the sneaker. The key is to not want to fully match everything but choose a specific aspect of color of the shoe and match that."

 Fashion Tip of the Week From Maalik: Whatever makes you unique is what people will embrace. If you are a bow tie and slacks guy then be that and be true to it. If you're a Jordan's and TIMBS type of guy then be that and embrace it. It will make people do the same.

 I think it's fair to say that today's dating world is more complicated than ever. Regardless of the numerous means of communication available to us, it seems like communication is at an all time low. There are new terms created everyday pertaining to relationships, sex, and dating, yet there is little to no clarification of what they truly mean. I don't see why things have to be so complicated, boy likes girl, girl likes boy, they fall in love etc. The messed up part is that women find themselves in "relationships" where they are faithful to a man who is not on the same page. Why? Hell, I don't know, I suppose lack of communication is to be blamed.

But what does it mean when people say they're talking to someone? As far as I'm concerned "talking to someone" is at the bottom of the totem pole of dating language. It is a general way of saying that you are interested in someone and they have expressed interest in you as well.

So why do people swear up and down that" talking" is the same as being in a relationship?

Two people who are talking have absolutely NO claim to one another. Why are we acting like it's a title? Way too many people have the meanings of these "labels" confused. From my understanding talking to someone is the most universal term to apply to a romantic partnership. But honestly, how much weight does that hold? That's like saying "I like chicken"...it doesn't mean shit.

How many of you have seen something like this on social media?

Thirsty: Someone who is too eager to get something especially play (sexual relations)- Urban Dictionary 

 Interest: Something that concerns, involves, draws the attention of, or arouses the curiosity of a person. - Dictionary.com

 Apparently liking someone or giving them an innocent compliment deems you thirsty in today's day and age. Naturally to sensible people that concept makes no sense and is absolutely pointless.

People are considered thirsty by the way they go about giving someone a "compliment" or at least their version of a compliment. Based on some of the Instagram photos I've seen men are out of control with their "COMPLIMENT comments." I spend a good deal of time on Insta cracking up at the nonsense in my timeline. BUT men aren't the only thirsty ones. Some women post pictures of ass and titties all day, and then have the nerve to complain about some of the comments they receive. In this case, I guess some women are the "thirst traps" but women can be thirsty in different ways as well.

Lets tackle thirsty women first.

Ladies, you know you're thirsty when you offer to cook or bring dinner to his place for the first date. If you've been dating for a while and you cook for him often then okay fine, but if not...girl, where are you going? The first thing that runs through his mind is that you're trying to get some... forget the dinner!  Ya thirsty.. Stop it.



Ladies you know you're thirsty when you call a man too many times and end up texting him "Did you get my call?" Honestly, you know he got the call. Who doesn't have their phone on them 90% of the time? If you constantly text "I haven't heard from you in a while" or "I guess you're busy" you're being thirsty. Have several seats and relax. He got your calls and texts, but he just doesn't want to talk to you.

The King of Fashion Collaborations is at it again! In case you were wondering Pharrell Williams is well deserving of his title. I mean c'mon we're talking about the man who was involved in numerous extremely successful fashion collaborations. There's his collection with Moynat, the collection of jumbo Birkin bags, his Uniqlo range, Stan Smiths Adidas, the Moncler lunettes, The G-star Raw for the Ocean jeans...you get the point. The man is a fashion genius, no wonder he was announced as the CFDA's 2015 Fashion Icon Award Winner.

Pharrell's fourth collection for Timberland launches Friday, May 22. These limited-edition boots, priced at $240 will be available at the Billionaire Boys Club in New York, London, and Tokyo, as well as select Timberland stores.

Not only are these Timberlands dope and unique but they're spun from Bionic Yarn, a fabric made from recycled plastic, plastic that originated from Pharrell's eco friendly brand, Bionic Yarn. 

The boots feature a honeycomb and grass theme. Pharrell previewed the beauties in a selfie of himself on a forklift via instagram. What in the world was he doing on that forklift?


Naturally, other celebrities have taken the look to social media, Beyoncé was spotted wearing them in the video for "Feeling Myself" and Rihanna recently posted a video via snap chat wearing the grass-print boots.
